The Role
The CAA undertakes a range of functions to manage and support aviation security stakeholders in the industry, including those providing aviation security training. This role exists to provide administrative support to these functions in order to ensure compliance with the applicable national and international regulations. These functions include:
- Certification of aviation security instructors.
- Providing information, guidance and support to stakeholders, and CAA colleagues on general regulatory matters, as well as certification and training matters.
- Updating and maintaining instructor databases.
- Initial confirmation and ongoing assurance of background and vetting checks for certificated instructors.
- Maintaining our egress library of documents for stakeholders.
- Support the wider Human Performance and Training department.
- Minute taking for industry working groups.
This post sits within the Training and Human Factors team within our Aviation Security department and liaises extensively with industry stakeholders and CAA colleagues to ensure that the correct checks are in place for the aviation security training community, and that accurate and timely advice is provided.
About You
Minimum essential requirements for the role:
- A good understanding of data protection principles.
- A good working knowledge of standard IT packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to work efficiently in a paperless environment.
- Good written and oral skills, together with a confident manner in dealing with people at all levels within CAA, industry, and related bodies.
- The ability to work unsupervised, using their own initiative in reaching sound judgment but able to identify when to refer to others.
- Able to work collaboratively, with a flexible, adaptable work ethos, and particularly the ability to operate in a multi-discipline team.
Desirable skills for the role:
- Aviation security training,
- National security vetting
- Familiarity with Microsoft D365 and SharePoint Online.
