ARC Group are working with an advanced logistics company, to find the right Traffic Planner. Our client has won numerous awards, complimenting their workspace and the service they provide. With the company plans to expand over the next 12 months, they are looking to add to their workforce throughout this period.
With the above being said, there is an opportunity for a Traffic Planner to join their team and work alongside their current planner.
You will be responsible for planning routes for the fleet. Every route needs to be arranged with the consideration of optimising, maximum revenue, and profitability.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday. You will be required to work on the occasional Saturday; however, this would be distributed evenly across the team.
The role is made of up of 3 key elements that contribute towards business running smoothly: Planning shifts, administration, and customer service.
Role and responsibilities:
- Ensuring trucks comply with legal requirements
- Schedule loads and deliveries against strict deadlines
- Work alongside drivers legislation and maintenance requirements
- Provide drivers with route plans along with any paperwork the driver will need to do the route
- Generate reports and report to the Transport Manager
- Manage the apps and monitoring ETAs
- Overseeing the warehouse to ensure loads are being done efficiently and nothing is left behind. Reporting any changes to delivery loads, time arrivals and issues.
- Manage the drivers start and finish times
- Raise training issues/requirements with management
- Respond to customers promptly
- Build and maintain customer relationships with current and new customers
Essential skills:
- Punctuality
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organised
- Resilient and uses own initiative
- Flexible with working hours (especially during training months)
- Tech savvy for the use of apps
Desired skills:
- Familiar with UPN, Palletways or Pall-ex
- Fully trained with TMS software
- Knowledge and previous experience within Transport and Logistics
