What’s the role all about:
The User Experience / User Interface Designer will be responsible for the visual communications aspect of the digital solutions environment as part of the Data Analytics Team. As an expert in UI design the role will be crucial in creating user-centric interface designs that seamlessly integrate with our azure software applications primarily Power Bi, Power Apps and SharePoint.
An essential part of this role will also be solid understanding of internet functionality, experience in agile design environments, and a commitment to supporting the transformation of data analytics service delivery to be more streamlined, efficient, and user-friendly. This is a young and growing department looking for a designer to bring in new ideas and creative design flair.
As a member of the Digital Solutions Team, the role will work closely with KBS’ Communications department in order to provide a cohesive user and data analytics experience in a changing business environment.
Key activities will include:
- Designing and implementing user interfaces that align with the digital solutions strategy.
- Establishing UI design guidelines, best practices, and standards
- Defining the visual design, positioning, and behavior of UI elements, including color, iconography, typography, structure, visual hierarchy, usability, and accessibility
- Presenting and communicating concepts to stakeholders, providing clear rationale for design decisions
- Contributing to the creation of design systems, component libraries, style guides, and documentation
- Implementing design concepts using frontend development skills and technologies like HTML/CSS, as well as no-code / low code interfaces.
- Designing and managing the Power Bi graphical interfaces for the Data Analytics Team.
- Deliver engaging and consistent content for website and where required on social media and online advertising channels.
- Creating clear, elegant, data-driven, user-centric experiences for customer delight.
- Conducting user research and presenting new findings to influence design decisions.
- Validating design solutions through usability testing.
- Contributing to broader digital solutions systems and best practices.
Your key experience will be:
- A proven track record of delivered UX design work.
- Developing and delivering Low / Code No code interfaces for Power Bi / Teams and SharePoint environments
- First-hand experience of agile methodologies and practice.
- Validated experience crafting intuitive graphical interfaces for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
- Experience owning the full UX process, including running discovery phases and solving complex problems using design-thinking methods and techniques.
Your key competencies will be:
- A self-starter, willing to take ownership for own tasks, and work on own initiative
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of visual design skills and fundamentals
- Proven experience in software UI Design roles
- Expert understanding of user interface design best practice
- Experience collaborating with teams, including data analysts, UX designers, stakeholders, and others
- Proficiency in HTML & CSS.
- Ability to understand and manage complex stakeholder relationships, and to influence senior customers and partners and be able to relate this back into business
- The ability to forge good relationships and engage, negotiate and collaborate at all levels internally and externally
- Driven, able to establish and monitor clear goals and objectives
- An analytical thought process that is needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations
You’ll ideally have the following qualifications, memberships etc:
- Practical and demonstratable experience of UI creation.
- Portfolio of designs and UI in Sharepoint and Power Bi.
