Our client is a well known business in Bristol and are currently recruiting for a VAT Assistant Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.
Description
The VAT Assistant Accountant will be responsible for;
- Preparation, filing and payment of VAT returns
- Detailed review of transactional details
- Accounting and reconciling month end trial balances, P&L and BS before review
- Annual reporting and VAT compliance
- Liaison with internal and external stake holders
- Assist with audit queries
- Continuous improvement - making processes and systems better and more efficient
- Working with country Management Accountants to clear reconciling items on the control accounts
- Reconciliation of period end VAT control accounts to filed returns
Profile
A successful VAT Assistant Accountant should have:
- A finance qualification or be studying towards AAT, CIMA or ACCA
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of VAT regulations - either UK or International
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
