About Us
Haven Vets are a proudly independent, client-focused practice set in Clacton-on-Sea, just a five-minute walk from golden beaches. Our team is what sets us apart, they are kind, hardworking and caring, which is why we value them so highly. Each person is like a part of the family and together we aim to provide high quality care for both our patients and clients. Located in Clacton-on-Sea, with Colchester and Ipswich a short journey away, the surrounding countryside is beautiful with enjoyable walks and areas of ONB such as Dedham.
The Role
We are looking for an individual who has experience, but more importantly for us, someone who will fit with our team. We are proud of the environment we have created and any person joining will be welcomed and supported by each and every member, in return we want someone who will support and help that team back. Client relationships are just as important, and we have worked hard to gain our reputation in the local area. We promote, amongst other things, case continuity, and aim to follow up our own cases and develop client relationships, which in turn makes for a more rewarding work life.
The full-time role is four days, three consulting days and one surgical day (this can be discussed according to experience and bias). You will have a set day off each week, to allow you to plan your down time off in advance. Our rotas are based around continuity; therefore, your operating days and consulting days stay the same each week so you can book your patients in with confidence. We are a busy practice and so you can expect to see a variety of species and conditions both medical and surgical.
We have invested in our people, premises and equipment, the practice has recently undergone a total refurbishment and extension of the main surgery to include separate cat waiting and consulting rooms (giving us our ISFM silver ward) 7 consulting rooms and larger separate dog and cat wards. Our facilities also include a high-quality ultrasound machine, Video-Endoscopy, digital x-ray, Tonopen, Multiparameter monitor and excellent in-house laboratory equipment.
As an RCVS accredited, nurse training practice, many of our 14 RVNs are ‘home-grown’ ensuring excellent support for inpatients and surgical cases along with well-run nurse clinics.
Our vet team consists of 10 vets, 3 part time, we have certificate holders in dermatology and soft tissue surgery who we have supported both finically and practically to achieve their goals. Our team works because we have the benefit of the knowledge and experience of our long service team members (we didn’t say old!), along with relatively newly qualified vets who bring new ideas and fresh perspectives. Together this makes a collaborative and inclusive workplace and ensures our patients get the best care we can provide.
Whilst we are ideally looking for a vet with some experience to join our team, there is so much opportunity here to grow your knowledge and career. We will always encourage you to follow your interests so if you’re looking to take on a certificate or want to expand your skills in a particular discipline then we will do all we can to support this.
