Medivet Chester-le-Street, County Durham has an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join this talented team.
It is a close-knit practice made up of a dedicated Branch Parter, Lead Veterinary Surgeon and a full passionate Nursing and Reception team who are keen to support and mentor a new Veterinary Surgeon to their community.
The practice is a well-equipped and situated close to the town centre. It boasts dedicated wards, a large waiting room and spacious preparation area with a separate imaging suite. For our feline patients we have a dedicated cat entrance, waiting room and hospital ward. We who are working towards becoming an ISFM accredited Cat Friendly Clinic. Our modern equipment includes digital x-ray, dental x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, physiotherapy laser, and in house haematology and biochemistry machines.

- Perform a wide range of consults, surgical procedures, dental and x-rays.
- Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
- Collaborate with the team to develop treatment plans
- Utilise diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.
- Prescribe medication.
- Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.
- Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices and preventative car
- Provide guidance and mentorship to members of the support team.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies & procedures.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Qualified MRCVS2 years’ experience in a small animal practiceCompetent in clinical examination and surgeryCompetent in working sole charge or as part of the wider team
