A rare opportunity for a Vet Surgeon to join our progressive and collaborative team has arisen!

Do you have a passion for clinical excellence? Would you like to work in a practice that has an excellent caseload where we encourage clinical freedom?

If so, this role is for you! Reporting to the Head Vet, we're looking for a confident Vet Surgeon who enjoys working as part of a busy team, ensuring clinical protocols are delivered and maintained.

Hours and package:

  • Salary up to £65,000 (D.O.E.)
  • 37 hours per week
  • 4-day working week
  • 1.5 weekends in 7 (one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and one separate full Saturday)
  • No OOH we have a dedicated night team for continuity of care.

Reporting to the Head Vet, you will work as part of the team of Vets across all of our branches. You will practice high standards of service for 608 Vets clients and care through examination, medical and surgical treatment of their animals. You will provide ongoing support in the provision of excellent patient services and assist in the efficient running of the practice and ensure all communication and clinical protocols are delivered and maintained.

Hear from Annie Mulligan, Vet Surgeon, about what it's like to work at 608 Vets.

"As a 2020 New Graduate, I started my veterinary career at 608 Vet Practice. I couldn't have asked for a better start to my career as a Veterinary Surgeon. Over the last two years, my exposure to case workups has been phenomenal. I have been supported with both medical and surgical cases. A weekly all vet meeting gives you the opportunity to discuss interesting or difficult cases and develop an understanding of the variety of ways to approach a case. Alongside this, I have been given impeccable in house clinical and pastoral mentorship. I have been fortunate enough to have protected time with my mentor to discuss cases, develop protocols or air any concerns I may have.

608 have allowed me to nurture and develop skills that mean I feel capable dealing with a variety of emergency cases. Running our own out of hours with our dedicated night team allows for thorough case work up and exposure to a vast array of exciting cases.

I would highly recommend 608 Vet Practice to anyone wanting to work in a busy, fast paced hospital with excellent case exposure, whilst working alongside a supportive, knowledgeable, and experienced team."
