Primary Purpose of Role:
As a Warehouse Manager, you’ll be responsible for all health and safety standards on site and providing excellent customer service. You will ensure all stock, WMS and customer reports are accurately updated and reported.
You will be required to manage all people, plan workloads and deal with all building and security issues at our Bromborough location.
You will support the warehouse administration team and account for all weekly invoicing, ensuring all jobs are reported and revenue is invoiced.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Management and day to day leadership of the warehouse team.
Uphold highest standards of Health and Safety working closely with Abbey Logistics SHEQ department.
Reporting non-conformances and completing internal investigations.
Liaising with other business divisions, suppliers, and transport companies; planning, coordinating, and monitoring the receipt, orders, and dispatch of goods.
Ensuring excellent customer service is delivered in a multi-user warehouse.
Using space and handling equipment efficiently and making sure quality, stock and budgetary targets are met.
Manage, support & develop the operational team through continuous improvement and proactive communication.
Authorise weekly timesheets and overtime for warehouse staff and drivers.
Day to day planning and management of the operation and any special projects or initiatives through continuous improvement.
Attending and facilitating regular operational meetings with staff to communicate consistent objectives and performance.
Manage and control the stock system to ensure accurate figures are reported on WMS and business KPI reports.
Delegate and record weekly cleaning reports from warehouse operatives.
Complete weekly and monthly SHEQ reports and record.
Record all safety checks on forklifts and organise repairs.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Understanding of Health and Safety, candidate is ideally IOSH certified.
Experienced forklift operator with experience of handling various cargo (essential).
People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, dealing with staff relating issues and liaising with HR.
Planning and organising skills to effectively manage the flow of stock.
Analytical ability.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Initiative and decisiveness.
Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to KPI management and spreadsheets with good knowledge of using excel (essential).
Problem-solving skills.
Work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Flexible approach to work as many warehouses operates shift patterns.
Knowledge of BRCGS standards is beneficial.
Experience of invoicing and understanding financial reporting.
