We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join a reputable business based in Doncaster. As Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimising the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and overall business success. You will be responsible for managing all strategic elements including planning, continuous improvement, technological advancements, setting of KPI s and staffing levels.
You line of Responsibilities:
People management
o Engage and motivate staff
o Maintaining optimum staff levels, workforce not overloaded but no slop
o Team meetings, 121s and appraisals
o Recruitment and onboarding/training
o Performance management
o HR admin contracts, RTW, bonus calculations, disciplinaries
Continuous improvement
o Accuracy reducing errors, right first time
o Quality improving the customer experience
o Productivity streamlining workflow to keep costs in control
o Safety reducing risk of accidents/incidents
o Housekeeping keeping the place presentable
Strategy
o Monthly reporting to the Board
o Yearly Operations Plans
o Scoping and presenting capital project business cases
o Analysing data for trends and improvement opportunities
o Planning for expansion/relocation
Organisation
o Deployment rota ensuring all work is covered, staff have variety, and maximise cross-training
o Process standardisation and maintaining processes
o Replenishment tweaks settings right so that pick faces are kept stocked but not over-stocked
o Pick face tweaks ensuring most popular products are in the best locations
o 5S ensuring work areas are in order and optimised for productivity tools and consumables readily available, sufficient space and flow
Stock
o Detailed understanding of the WMS and product range to be able to thoroughly investigate stock issues, without having to rely on someone else
o Full ownership of stock figure discrepancies, accountable to the Senior Management, and taking actions to prevent recurrence of issues
o Monthly reporting on stock movements backed up with investigation results and preventative actions taken
o Ownership of rolling stock take process, ensuring stock valuations can be relied upon and are up to date
o Identify slow moving and obsolete stock and report to management/sales to move on
Delivery
o Management of own drivers, issue resolution
o Understanding of own van delivery management software, tweaking as needed
o Management of external couriers performance and cost
Compliance
o Work with third-party consultants to maintain H&S compliance
o Ensure MHE is well maintained and staff are trained in safe use
o Plan facility maintenance to keep everything safe and working
o Work on ISO/ESG projects
