Job Title: Waste Manager
Location: Milford Lane, Pennington, SO41 8QZ
Hours: Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday's as required
Salary: £45,000.00 per annum
As NMSB focuses on our Waste division, we are looking to recruit a Waste Manager based at our recycling centre in Pennington. Leading a team of 15 employees covering commercial and inert waste along with a picking line. We are looking for someone who can support NMSB with the delivery of our 5 year plan, of which Waste is a key focus.
Duties will include:
- Provide disposal solutions for all hazardous waste enquiries that are presented to our Sales office
- Fully cost and negotiate the best rates for the disposal options of all landfill and recyclable materials on all sites with waste services
- Creating monthly reports and attending meetings
- Ensure all waste sites are legally compliant, (waste legislation, site licence and permits).
- Demonstrate the ability to identify problems and resolve with a proactive and economically viable solution
- Lead your team, with a strong and direct approach, ensuring you maintain Company standards and continue to develop your teams
- To actively encourage and be responsible for the efficiencies in processing waste streams; (commercial, inert, green waste, concrete crushing, screening and picking station)
- To ensure that production targets and other KPI’s including safety are met
- Be responsible for working within budgets and maintain cost controls
- Effectively plan available to ensure smooth and consistent operation
- Oversee all waste operations on all waste sites, including Holbury and Elliott Road, Bournemouth.
- Use your waste qualifications (WAMITAB/IOSH/NEBOSH) to mentor and manage your teams and their development
- To file and maintain records diligently
- To take care of the environment while carrying out any duties
To ensure that the Company’s activities comply with legislation and regulation concerning Health, Safety and Welfare, Quarry Regulations, Environmental and Quality control the role will be required to learn, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures.
