We are a dynamic and fast-growing company seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our small but expanding development team. Our company specialises in various projects, ranging from WordPress builds and functionality enhancements to custom MySQL database projects and API integrations. We are looking for a talented individual who can contribute to the maintenance, updates, and development of our existing projects while also collaborating with the sales team to scope out new projects and deliver them successfully alongside both internal and external teams.
Not only will the ideal candidate be a great developer, but they'll be a brilliant communicator. This is a client-facing role, so you'll be speaking to clients via email and video call. The ability to explain things clearly and concisely and keep communication channels open with clients at all times is vital to a great working relationship, and it's a big part of why our clients love working with us. That, combined with the fact we can always deliver whatever they need, on time and to budget.
Candidates must be a commutable distance from our Coventry office as we encourage in-person communication, we have regular team days and social events, and believe this is the best way to build relationships with clients and colleagues. Although most of our team works on a hybrid basis between remote and office working, so there is flexibility around this.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Full Stack Development: Take ownership of various projects and provide end-to-end development solutions, including frontend and backend development, database design, and implementation.
2. WordPress Development: Build, customise, and maintain WordPress websites to meet client requirements and ensure optimal performance and functionality.
3. Database Management: Design, implement, and optimise MySQL databases, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval for our projects.
4. Project Collaboration: Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements, participate in scoping out projects, and provide technical insights and estimates for new opportunities.
5. Project Execution: Work closely with internal and external teams to execute projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
6. Maintenance and Support: Proactively identify and resolve bugs, issues, and performance bottlenecks in existing projects, providing ongoing support and maintenance.
7. Technology Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to PHP development, WordPress, databases, and full-stack development, and make recommendations for improvement when necessary.
8. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for projects, including specifications, guidelines, and best practices.
9. Team Collaboration: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, actively contributing to team meetings, knowledge sharing, and mentoring junior developers when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Solid experience in PHP development, including proficiency in PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
2. Strong understanding of frontend technologies such as HTML5, SCSS, JavaScript.
3. Expertise in WordPress development, including creating custom themes, plugins.
4. Proficiency in MySQL database design, optimization, and querying.
5. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
6. Strong problem-solvingand analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex applications.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
8. Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
0. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
