Young Carer Support Worker

At Carers First, we understand that caring can be hard, but believe getting the right help shouldn’t be. We work directly with and for, unpaid carers to provide personalised information, advice and support. Making it easier for those caring for someone else to continue living their lives to the fullest.
We are currently seeking a Young Carer Support Worker to join our team in Medway. The requirements of the role will include completing statutory assessments for Young Carers and providing high quality information and support including one-to-one conversations to identify needs with assessments and support plans; running support groups and activities; working with schools and partnership working to identify Young Carers in Medway.
To be successful you will experience of working with children or young people. Either in one-to-one or group setting and demonstrate an understanding of Young Carers and their issues. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The location for the position is flexible but candidates must be willing to work from community venues and have flexibility to work outside of normal working hours to meet the needs of Young Carers in Medway.
