The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU) at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for a Data Management Support Officer. ECTU has a proven track record on delivering research and answering important questions about treatment and service delivery within the NHS. We work closely with patient groups and clinicians who are outstanding in their field.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and highly organised person who is able to work independently, managing your own workload and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Applicants will possess and be keen to further develop problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
The post holder will assist with the development of ECTU Data Management plans and case report forms, advising on best practice. They will assist with the ECTU trial data cleaning and data query resolution process and take part in the development process for study data collection systems, and ensure trial documentation is produced to a consistent and high standard. They play a pivotal role within the Data Management & Programming Team ensuring good practice and adherence to Data Management quality systems, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Research Governance Framework.

Your skills and attributes for success:
• Relevant work experience, including work experience with the management of data -or- relevant degree, and one year’s work experience with the management of data.
• Experience working with database systems.
• Ability to work within strict guidelines and prioritise workloads.
• Good team working and communication skills.
• Strong IT literacy (MS Office) skills
