The Opportunity
The School of Health in Social Science is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellowship as part of the Edinburgh Career Development Scheme. The aim of this Fellowship is to provide support for an outstanding researcher, in the immediate postdoctoral stage, to strengthen their research and develop their academic career. This would offer the successful postholder an opportunity to develop into a research-active academic at the University of Edinburgh.
Applications are welcome from candidates who were awarded a PhD between 1st January 2020 and 30th November 2023.
Within the School of Health and Social Science, the Fellow will be linked to one of our Research Centres or established Research Groups, contributing to the School’s research excellence through a range of activities including delivering high-quality research, bidding for and implementing funded research, developing their public engagement and impact around research, and enhancing their networks and professional skills.
The Fellow will also benefit from links to our Subject Areas (Clinical and Health Psychology, Nursing, and Counselling, Psychotherapy and Applied Social Sciences)

The School has an interdisciplinary research culture and substantial impact through a portfolio of internationally focussed research and strong links within the wider university and other organisations including Edinburgh Neuroscience, Edinburgh Mental Health and Edinburgh Futures Institute. There are also long-standing collaborations with statutory and third sector organisations in health, policy, education, and social care.
