The Opportunity:
This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious individual to be involved in cutting-edge research as part of a large multidisciplinary team based in the IRR of UoE under the supervision of Dr Qiang Wang and also work closely with Dr Ahsan Akram, Dr David Dorward, and Prof James Hopgood.
This project aims to apply state-of-the-art deep learning (DL) technologies for lung cancer diagnosis using label-free fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), centred on mutation detection and PD-L1 expression profiling.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Strong programming skills with Python, Matlab, C++, or others.
Confidence in biomedical image processing software, e.g., ImageJ/Fiji, QuPath.
Proven experience in image processing, e.g., classification, registration, or segmentation.
Excellent skills in ML/DL, familiar with commonly used ML/DL libraries, e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or others.
Hands-on experience in implementing conventional and/or developing bespoke ML/DL models for biomedical image processing, e.g., GANs
