You will be working with schools, children, their families, and other professionals to ensure all children and young people can access education provision.
The post holders will be responsible for fulfilling the local authorities’ statutory duties in relation to school attendance, exclusion, children missing education and promoting inclusion of children in education. This may include:
- Enforcement action for poor attendance and providing advice and support to schools and other agencies seeking to support positive attendance.
- Identifying Children Missing Education (CME) and ensuring they are in contact with appropriate agencies and seeking an educational placement for them.
- Provide advice to schools, governing bodies and families in relation to Exclusion and attend disciplinary and appeal panels whilst promoting alternatives to exclusion.
- Play a full part in the wider SEND and Inclusion Team including providing advice and linking to other agencies.
- Where appropriate undertaking Early Help Assessments and participating in Early Help processes directly or through the provision of advice.

DBS
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
