Account Manager / Accountant

Ward Williams is actively seeking an Account Manager / Accountant to join our independent and established firm based in Weybridge, KT13 8RN, delivering accountancy, taxation, advisory and audit services to its clients. The suitable Account Manager / Accountant will be looking to join our Business Services Department assisting the partners in the delivery of a full range of accountancy services.

About the Role:

• Full time permanent Account Manager / Accountant responsible for a mixed portfolio of clients. Duties will include:
• Review of statutory year-end accounts
• Taking full management responsibility for all aspects of managing a diverse portfolio of clients
• Preparation of limited company accounts adopting FRS105, FRS102(1A) and preparation of management accounts
• Review of VAT returns
• Preparation and review of corporate tax returns and tax computations
• Liaising with and providing general technical advice to clients for example tax-efficient remuneration planning (technical + management support will be provided as required)
• Being able to work as part of a team and managing/training junior members of staff
• Liaising with the senior management to oversee the deadline management for the department
• Billing, WIP management and other ad hoc responsibilities as and when required

Requirements:

• To be considered for the role of Account Manager / Accountant you will have:
• ACCA or ACA Qualification (Ideally be fully qualified, or be near qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in practice)
• A proven background with 3 + years practice experience within a small to medium sized accountancy practice
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to balance your workload effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment and be comfortable delivering feedback and training
• A working knowledge of CCH - AP/Cortex (or similar) and a bookkeeping package such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
