About The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and customer focussed individual to join our Finance team. You will be part of a fantastic team that delivers effective finance support to services across both Chorley and South Ribble Borough Councils as part of a shared financial services team. You'll have experience with transactional accounts processes and have experience with systems.
You will be based at Chorley Council’s Town Hall but may also work from South Ribble Borough Council’s Civic Centre in Leyland.
- Supporting Management Accountants to compile revenue and capital budgets.
Working with Management Accountants to prepare management accounting reports, this will require working with colleagues on the team to aid production of the accounts.
Support the Management Accountants in maintaining a reconciled establishment with HR
Assist in completing journals and other reconciliations where required across the management accounting team.
Assisting Management Accountants to provide timely and accurate responses to Freedom of Information queries
Supporting the finance systems team to maintain the financial management system
Supporting the Management Accounts team by providing transactional support such as purchase order raising and debtors invoices
Responding to external audit queries including doing walkthroughs of the system.
At financial year end working closely with Management Accountants to ensure a timely and accurate close-down of the revenue and capital accounts in strict accordance with statutory requirements.
Help to close, carry forward and amend purchase orders at year-end.
- You'll have experience of working with financial and management information systems
- You'll also have experience of management accounting procedures and transactional accounting processes
- You'll be someone who can deliver first-class customer service and works well in a team
