About the Role:
As a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant at my client's business, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounts department. Your responsibilities will include monitoring debtor account balances, managing payments and credit ratings, addressing client inquiries, and assisting with general accounting tasks. You'll also collaborate closely with the businesses Accountant and Management team on various ad-hoc duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit control
- Liaise with department managers, including weekly debt meetings
- Assist Cashier with bank postings
- Conduct customer credit checks and create new customer accounts
- Send customer statements and investigate unusual sales ledger balances
- Perform month-end sales ledger and nominal reconciliations
- Monitor aged bad debt and calculate month-end provisions
- Provide assistance with month-end stock check
Requirements:
- Previous credit control experience
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Enthusiastic and focused approach to work
- Conscientious and punctual
Additional Information:
- Flexible working patterns between Monday and Friday, with occasional weekends required
- Some evenings and weekends may be required, especially at month-end
- Limited work-from-home options available
