Our client is an award-winning international law firm that can trace it roots to the late 1800s. Perhaps uniquely among major firms, they have retained a major client from this time. The firm now has a global reach spanning Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East, and Latin America.
They are now looking to hire an Accounts Payable Manager to join the accounts team of 21 on a contract to permanent basis. The candidate should have experience in working as a Accounts Payable Supervisor and previously worked for a law firm.
Responsibilities
- Managing the account payable function and maintaining an overview of the team's workload.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant financial controls and Firm policies and procedures.
- To identify process improvement opportunities and actively work with other team members to improve and streamline the AP function.
- Pro-actively engage with wider business on process improvements. Continually gathering feedback and improving the stakeholder experience.
- To ensure that service levels and quality of work are maintained to the highest standards
- Managing the team of 3 Accounts Payable assistants
- Delivering timely feedback on performance (both day to day and formal appraisals), identifying training needs, managing delivery and generally supporting the team.
- Distributing and monitoring work amongst the team, ensuring tasks are dealt with on a timely basis
- Monitoring the settlement of all Accounts Payable related transactions.
- Timely resolution of supplier and internal stakeholder queries
- Accurate and timely inputting and posting of Accounts Payable transactions, including suppliers and Counsel fees
- Processing of staff expenses through Concur.
- To work with the firm's Legal Cashiers team and Billing team to ensure all account payable related transactions are dealt with promptly.
Candidate Profile
- Legal AP experience at a senior level
- Experience of managing AP teams with at least 3 account payable assistants.
- Aderant or Elite knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
- Excellent organisation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
- Stakeholder focussed
- Strong communication skills
- Strong Excel skills
