The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the Interpath Accounts Payable process efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Accounts Payable Specialist will report directly to the Assistant Financial Controller.
Key Accountabilities:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice inquiries and payment status.
- Review and verify employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments (ACH, wire transfers) as needed.
- Assist in month-end close activities related to Accounts Payable, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Accounts Payable records and documentation.
- Assist with audits as necessary, providing supporting documentation and explanations for Accounts Payable transactions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of best practices within the Accounts Payable function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing and Accounting, to resolve issues and streamline processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with process improvements and implementing best practices is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
