Practice and Accounts Manager, Crowthorne, £38-43k

A great opportunity to join a successful and growing medium sized law firm in a varied Practice and Accounts Manager role. This is a full-time, office-based*, sole-charge role and in support of the firm’s legal services, duties will include:

Day to day and annual preparation of the Firm’s accounts.
Some aspects of human resources administration.
Advice on regulatory compliance including SRA and SARs.
Organisation of the Firm’s insurance, accreditation and practicing certificate renewals.
Negotiating with third party suppliers, including stationery, IT services.

Responsibilities:

 Prepare and provide information to the Firm’s accountants for annual Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs) audit and year end accounts.
 VAT returns.
 Corporate Tax instalments.
 Running the small monthly Payroll.
 NI/Tax payments due to HMRC.
 Checking and authorising TTs/BACs from the client account.
 Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) applications and staff course administration.
 Practicing certificate bulk renewal application.
 Insurance renewals.
 Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) applications when required.
 HR related tasks to include sickness and holidays.
 Carrying out DBS checks and ensure they are up to date.
 Provide first line advice to staff in relation to software/systems.
 Liaise with IT support company.
 Using LEAP and Xero Accounts.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a legal environment and a good understanding of SRA account rules. Confident communication skills are a must as is the ability to work using your own initiative to deadlines. Benefits include 22 days holiday incl 3 at Xmas. Hours of work are 9-5.
