BBNI companies operate in over 240 churches across Northern Ireland and Donegal. Each week our volunteer leaders provide a balanced programme of activities for children and young people aged 4 -18. (P1 – Year 14).

This post is fixed term until July 2025 with the possibility of an extension.

Salary £21,840.00 per annum

Previous knowledge or experience within The Northern Ireland Boys’ Brigade is not necessary.

About The Role

The Role

Based at The Northern Ireland Boys’ Brigade Headquarters, in Culcavy, the Admin and Media Assistant will report to the Engagement Officer.

This role involves a variety of duties which will include answering telephone calls, taking and passing on messages, general admin tasks, responding to queries, arrange meetings, general housekeeping to ensure the office and reception are appropriately presented, assist in the production of social media content, social media scheduling and respond to social media message and update the website.

Hours of work

• 35 hours per week distributed Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Occasional evening work may be required.

Required Criteria

• A minimum of 5 GCSE qualifications at grade ‘C’ or above (or equivalent) to include Maths and English
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to demonstrate competence using MS packages in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for learning new procedures and IT packages
• Good command of written English to enable proof reading duties
• Effective team player and able to work on own initiative
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload
• Positive attitude and approach
• Accuracy in work and high attention to detail
• Sympathetic to the vision, mission and values of The Northern Ireland Boys’ Brigade.
