TSR Legal have recently partnered with a Leading Legal 50 law firm based in Reading who are looking to recruit an AML Manager to the Risk department.
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced individual to lead the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team across the Reading and London offices. As the Manager of the AML Function, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and fostering a culture of risk awareness within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and manage a dedicated AML team, providing guidance and support to five team members.
- Compliance Oversight: Collaborate with fee earning teams and wider Risk Department members to ensure compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and broader UK legislation.
- AML Process Management: Oversee the AML processing within the Intapp CMI workflow, acting as a point of escalation for complex and high-risk matters.
- Client Identification and Verification: Identify and verify new clients, assess AML/CTF and sanctions risks, and determine applicable Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements.
- Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to the AML team, Risk Partners, and other members of the firm on AML/CTF and sanctions risks. Develop and deliver training materials across the firm.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with AML regulations and professional/regulatory requirements, making recommendations for changes as needed.
- File Review Procedures: Manage the administration of the firm's file review procedures and maintain the Related Party Transaction approval process and register.
To be considered for the role, our client is requiring a minimum of 2 years in AML management, proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook, working knowledge of AML legislative regimes, sanctions regimes, PEPs, high-risk categories, and complex corporate structures as well as a proven ability to manage a team in multiple locations, demonstrating a solutions-focused and commercially sensible approach.
