This is a 36 month apprenticeship with the view of the successful candidate being offered full time employment. The successful candidate will work towards the Level 3 Light Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician apprenticeship standard.
A typical day at Car Services Grimsby will include:
- Shadow experienced technicians during vehicle inspections and diagnostic procedures, learning to identify issues and potential repairs
- Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, tyre rotations, and fluid checks, gaining practical experience under supervision
- Acquire hands-on skills in repairing and replacing automotive components such as brakes, exhaust systems, suspension parts, and electrical components, with guidance from mentors
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines while working in the workshop environment, prioritising personal safety and that of colleagues
- Actively engage in training sessions and educational opportunities to expand technical knowledge and develop proficiency in various automotive systems and technologies
- Uphold cleanliness and organisation standards within work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors, communicating progress, challenges, and learning needs
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, and a strong work ethic, exhibiting a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges encountered in the dynamic automotive industry
