Architect Job in Canterbury, Kent
We are currently working with an AJ100 practice, that has a new Architect job. This role would allow you to work on a range of projects with a focus on conservation.
Our client was founded in the 1940s and has grown to over 300 people, across 11 UK offices. During this time, they have established themselves as an industry leader in planning advice, heritage consultancy, building surveying, conservation, and contemporary architecture.
Working with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers, and individuals, this practice has been involved in the care and development of some of the best-loved buildings and places in the UK and abroad. The practice provides sensitive restoration and repair schemes and modern design in historic contexts. Their bold and contemporary designs are spread across a variety of sectors including cultural, master planning, education, ecclesiastical, public, hospitality, residential, and many more.
Role & Responsibilities
- Work across all RIBA stages
- Demonstrate an enthusiasm for the repair and conservation of historic building-based projects
- Take a lead role in projects as required
- manage and support junior team members.
Required Skills & Experience
- Part 3 qualified with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Project Architect for a UK-based practice
- Have excellent design and drawing skills
- Have good experience and/or enthusiasm for working with historic buildings
- Have a strong understanding of the UK Building, Planning and Listed Building regulations
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proven experience working on all RIBA stages
- Confident to manage day-to-day project running independently
- Have the ability to work successfully within a team, and to lead a team
- Personable, confident and with a strong sense of team spirit
- Competent in technical detailing
- Proficient using AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Revit and NBS (Chorus) would be desirable.
