Art Director
April Six Technology, London

Reports To
Executive Creative Director

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Art Director to join our Agency in London at April Six Technology.

As a key member of our creative team, you will collaborate closely with strategy, copywriters and the design team to contribute your conceptual thinking, delivering exceptional creative solutions for both retained and new business within April Six Technology.

Role:
Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, you will be a highly organised individual, have the all-important passion for the creative world, alongside the ability to create visually engaging, innovative designs and digital communications. With a talent for articulating and presenting your ideas internally and externally, you will play a pivotal role in elevating our creative output, ensuring projects are executed to the highest standard, meeting deadlines, and adhering to budget constraints. Generating intelligent ideas that are backed up in collaboration with our April Six strategy and insight is essential, with the ability to acquire in-depth understanding of our clients’ business and industry. Our commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of design trends, advertising, and relevant software as a cohesive creative team, means we stay current and enjoy doing so.

Key responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with copywriters to provide creative excellence and conceptual thinking for both retained and new business within April Six Technology.
  • Deliver inspirational and high-quality creative solutions that meet client briefs and objectives.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our clients’ business and industry, staying informed about
    industry trends and advancements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Creative Director and Associate Creative Director to ensure projects are completed to the highest standard, meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Stay updated on all aspects of design advertising, relevant software, and industry progression

Skills, knowledge and experience
  • Extensive experience working as a Senior Designer in an agency environment
  • Thorough understanding of consumers, advertising, marketing principles and the B2B sector,
    the technology sector being an advantage
  • Proven experience of working within strict brand guidelines across varied client portfolios
  • A high-quality portfolio, relative to experience level plus a track record of inventive and
    compelling concept work that shows creative flair and originality
  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent agency experience
  • The flexibility to adapt your ideas to suit client expectations and their feedback efficiently
  • Passion, enthusiasm and integrity for producing outstanding creative work
  • A strong visual sense and considered typographic abilities
  • Strong attention to detail (striving for perfection in every execution)
  • Well organised with a strong desire to work-hard and succeed
  • The confidence to present ideas to internal teams and external clients and able to convey strong communication skills to relevant teams across departments
  • Enthusiastic follower of graphic, web, social and technological trends
  • Strong skills with design software in Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and digital applications such as Adobe XD and Adobe After Effects would be advantageous
  • A collaborative approach when working as part of a team
  • Able to take direction well from senior management teams across the business
  • Initiate and have ownership of all projects tasked whilst keeping track of and making sure consistency and quality are maintained throughout
  • Flexible, with the ability to multitask when required
  • Willing to organise or help the Creative Team with internal initiatives for the Creative Services Department
