Assistant Accountant

Our prestigious client are going through an exciting time of growth and with this in mind are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to work on a full time permanent basis.

Within this role your duties will include

Duties

• Support month and year end process, including control account reconciliations and journal preparation and processing.
• Assist with the sales invoicing function, including oversight and management of sales invoicing for key contracts.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any accounting enquires.
• Provide cover for processing sales and purchase invoices onto Accounts System during holidays and other busy periods as required.
• Assist with the preparation of VAT returns for UK and Ireland.
• Assist with the credit control function.
• Assist with supplier payments.
• Assist with bank reconciliations for multiple accounts including foreign currency.
• Other ad-hoc duties and accounting analysis as required.
• Liaising with external auditors

Required Experience and Skills

• Previous experience in an Accounts Department or Accounting Practice.
• Experience using accounting systems (System used is Access Accounts but experience of this particular system is not essential).
• VAT experience.
• Strong IT, numeracy, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work on own and as part of a team.
• Relevant accounting qualification preferred but not essential.
