Our prestigious client are going through an exciting time of growth and with this in mind are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to work on a full time permanent basis.
Within this role your duties will include
Duties
- Support month and year end process, including control account reconciliations and journal preparation and processing.
- Assist with the sales invoicing function, including oversight and management of sales invoicing for key contracts.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any accounting enquires.
- Provide cover for processing sales and purchase invoices onto Accounts System during holidays and other busy periods as required.
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns for UK and Ireland.
- Assist with the credit control function.
- Assist with supplier payments.
- Assist with bank reconciliations for multiple accounts including foreign currency.
- Other ad-hoc duties and accounting analysis as required.
- Liaising with external auditors
Required Experience and Skills
- Previous experience in an Accounts Department or Accounting Practice.
- Experience using accounting systems (System used is Access Accounts but experience of this particular system is not essential).
- VAT experience.
- Strong IT, numeracy, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own and as part of a team.
- Relevant accounting qualification preferred but not essential.
