Job OverviewThe post-holder is expected to uphold and actively promote the ethos of St Leonards School. The post-holder is responsible to the School Accountant and ultimately to the Head of Finance.Working in the Accounts Office, the post-holder will complete a range of finance duties and assistance, essential for the efficient daily operation of St Leonards School. The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the School Accountant to meet specific priorities and deadlines.Key Areas of ResponsibilityAssist the School Accountant with the day-to-day financial accounting function, including ledgers, debtors, cash, treasury, payroll and donations. Maintain the accounts for the school’s commercial subsidiary company, St Leonards Enterprises Ltd, using a separate ERP systemAssist the School Accountant to provide a complete, efficient and accurate Fee Billing and Sales Ledger service for the SchoolPreparation of VAT returnsPrepare and provide reports and assist with quarterly month end Management AccountsAssist with annual Statutory Accounts preparationTermly school fee and recharge invoices, under direction from the School AccountantRecording, processing and reconciliation of pupil registration fees and depositsAnalysing invoices relating to amounts to be recharged to pupilsParticipation in annual School Budget preparationThis is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities and duties.
