The role will lead a highly effective Student Experience team including staff working across a range of areas. This team will help to enable students to thrive, experiencing an excellent Student Experience while studying legally, safely and successfully at the ISC. Delivery of this will ensure continuous improvement to student satisfaction, student engagement, people experience within the team and student registration rates at Kingston University London.
The post holder will represent and promote the Student Experience at all levels within ISC, Study Group, the University and the wider sector environment. The role will drive collaboration within and between teams and with the SMT drive the continuous improvement of centre performance. The post holder will facilitate the development of their team and model continuous professional development in their own practice.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Articulate and implement a clear vision for the development of the Student Experience Team.
- Contribute to senior management meetings in the centre as appropriate to inform strategic planning and resource allocation including identifying appropriate actions to solve problems and enhance delivery.
- Provide effective performance management of direct reports, including setting personal objectives and KPIs; regularly reviewing the performance of direct reports; and conducting formal performance reviews according to company policy and procedures.
- Support the Centre Director to ensure that the Centre is fully compliant with Study Group’s, Kingston University’s, and relevant external agencies’ quality frameworks, policies, procedures, and codes of practice.
- Contribute to the production of the Annual Monitoring Report, Centre Action Plan, and other evaluative and reflective documents, for submission to Study Group and the University.
- Work with the Centre Director and teaching staff to ensure high levels of automatic progression are achieved for Students across all programmes.
- Oversee the planning and management of student induction, to ensure all students receive a smooth, legally compliant, and efficient entry into the ISC and that all necessary safeguarding arrangements are in place to facilitate each student’s academic success.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, particularly those under 18 and vulnerable adults, within the ISC. Responsibilities encompass overseeing all safeguarding matters, implementing policies and procedures, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Ensure that all staff working within the ISC are aware of their obligations and requirements in relation to Safeguarding and welfare.
- Work with the Student Experience team to establish proactive initiatives to ensure a sector-leading Student Experience is on offer to students.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Administration or management training or qualification.
- Recent successful line management experience within education, and with experience successfully engaging in process development and implementation.
- Experience in managing staff in an office environment.
- Experience in data management interpretation, and quality assurance.
- Experience in providing advice, guidance, or student support within an educational context.
- Experience in developing and implementing initiatives with a strong customer service focus, which is results-focused.
