We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director - Organisational Design and Change with a proven track record in delivering Business Change, Organisational Design, and transformational change within medium/large, complex organisations in the public sector.
The post holder will provide Organisational Design expertise, serving as the go-to person within the organisation. They will work closely with leaders to influence and enhance organisational effectiveness by employing established frameworks and models. This role involves coaching and guiding the business to achieve tangible benefits and value-driven outcomes, including enhanced productivity, more efficient operational methods, and optimised cost reductions.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead a consultancy like service provision to provide specialist Organisation Design and Development (OD&D) expertise to Senior Stakeholders and HR Business Partners (HRBP) to enable efficiency and realise benefits.
- Work in partnership with the Programme Director and Senior Stakeholders, lead the delivery of organisation design and Target Operating Model (TOM) activity.
- Lead on working with the Programme team/Professional services partner and wider business, to proactively identify areas where targeted Organisation Design work is needed (for example due to new capability, ways-of-working, processes or technology), proposing courses of action based on best practice.
- Lead and create an Organisation Design roadmap that plans, prioritises and sequences new Organisation Design requirements as they emerge, then overseeing the design and implementation of new structures
- Lead on the design phase, assessing the impact of changes, and providing assurance that design principles have been adhered to and that the integrity / coherence of the overall Organisation Design (as part of the Operating Model) is maintained.
Experience:
- Demonstrate considerable depth and breadth of experience in Organisational Design and implementation of medium/large complexity Business Change projects in the public sector
- Experienced in working in an equivalent organisation with an understanding of nuances of operating in such an environment.
- Considerable Organisational Design and development experience; including initiation, design, delivery and embedding of initiatives that add value and are business aligned.
- Considerable experience in leading and delivering people related projects across a medium/ large, complex organisation.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Considerable experience of Executive Stakeholder management, developing partnerships, networks and working relationships to successfully deliver programme outcomes.
- Able to demonstrate experience of influencing senior stakeholders both strategically and operationally.
- Able to demonstrate substantial programme management, project management and Business Change management capability to enable successful delivery of organisational change.
- Experienced in presenting to a variety of stakeholders in various situations.
- Able to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of employment law.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
