Purpose of the role
The Assistant Finance Business Partner will be a core member of the Finance & Business Performance function, working with the Finance Business Partner to provide high quality performance information and insight across the business to increase accountability and inform better decision making.
The role will engage with budget holders to develop a deeper understanding of performance drivers to ensure we deliver value for money and make the best use of our available resources.
Main duties of the role
- Proactively supply information to all areas of the business to ensure financial and performance understanding across our operational teams
- Work with the Finance Business Partner and budget holders to deliver a viable annual budget, conducting regular financial reviews with budget holders to ensure budget delivery
- Provide support to budget holders on all aspects of management accounting.
- Assist Finance Business Partner and/or budget holders with financial planning, analysis and forecasting.
- Support annual budget upload process
- Assist with financial systems management, testing and updates as required
- Production and analysis of data to understand financial performance both internally and external benchmarking
- Oversee annual benchmarking data collection and analysis of results
- Contribute to finance and performance team process reviews to simplify and automate to make them more robust and free–up internal capacity
- Be an advocate of the Finance & Business Performance function across the organisation.
- Ad–hoc project support as and when required.
