As an Assistant Finance Manager, you’ll be supporting in delivering day to day finance administration tasks – if you’re looking for a step up in your career in finance this could be the perfect role for you.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to pay up to £42,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other benefits.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- To produce accurate weekly and monthly customer accounts with detailed variance analysis.
- Reconciliation of balance sheets using Blackline including detailed workings/supporting information.
- To manage and monitor site financial KPI’s and report accordingly for both XPO and customer reporting deadlines – weekly/period/quarterly
- Monitor controls – i.e. aged debtors, purchase orders, payroll
- To participate in the creation of the annual operational budgets and interim forecasts for the site in partnership with the site management team, in line with XPO and customer requirements
- To review contract requirements to fully understand the customer needs, both current and long term, and ensure appropriate solutions are found to ensure the customer’s needs are met in full
- To visit sites to liaise directly with the site management teams
- To provide appropriate levels of support and challenge to the Operational Management team
- Assist internal and external auditors with any enquiries
- Adherence to ad hoc requests for financial analysis from the site, head office and the customer
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Competently demonstrates previous professional experience within a similar role
- Experience with open and closed book accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel (V lookups, Pivot tables, Sum-Ifs)
- Knowledge of financial management systems. Experience of SAP, Adaptive and Blackline would be advantageous
- Proven track record in successfully establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with both internal and external customers
- Experience managing challenging stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrates a ‘can-do’ and proactive attitude
- Full/Part Qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
