Assistant Financial Accountant

We are currently seeking a full-time, office-based Assistant Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will earn an annual salary between £25,000 and £34,000. This role involves supporting the company’s accounting processes, reconciling accounts, managing payroll, and preparing reports. The Assistant Financial Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and work closely with the finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Updating and reconciling financial ledgers.
• Managing, processing, and submitting payroll, including HMRC filings.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets.
• Administering and managing all VAT activities across the business.
• Recording, tracking, and updating fixed asset registers.
• Producing accurate balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Monitoring cash flow.
• Providing day-to-day support to the purchase ledger function as needed.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the business.
• Filing, scanning, and archiving into SharePoint, E-vision, and other finance systems.
• Performing data entry into various systems and spreadsheets.
• Carrying out any other reasonable administrative and ad-hoc duties as requested by the Line Manager.
• Assisting other members of the finance team as needed.
• Ensuring the provision of annual leave handovers and the accurate dissemination of information to all parties.
