Harmonic is excited about being partnered up with one of the UK's industry-leading hospitality groups in the search for an Assistant Financial Controller. Our client is a hospitality group that is a collection of luxury hotels in the 4 and 5-star market-based in the South of England.

Our client is now looking to hire an Assistant Financial Controller to join a cohesive team, reporting to the Group Financial Controller as the Assistant Financial Controller you will play a leading role in the Finance Team and will be instrumental in the company's growth plans.

With this role playing a vital part in the company's further projects, the Assistant Financial Controller will be integral to the business activities of the group. Our client is looking for a genuine self-starter who has the ability, potential, and thirst to learn and grow with a track record of leadership and a strong understanding of financial principles and practices leading the team to deliver the day-to-day financial tasks and delivery of the overall Finance Roadmap.

The Role:

• Lead monthly group management accounts delivery, providing analyses and projections to hotel and senior management.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Manager to analyze costs, seek savings, and enhance efficiencies.
• Conduct detailed reviews of F&B and Rooms Metrics, aligning with property strategy for improvement.
• Compile annual budget in coordination with FD and various departments.
• Develop and implement controls through site inspections for robust financial management.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and assist in UK statutory accounts preparation.
• Report monthly financial trends and KPIs, supporting performance improvement with Hotel Managers.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, purchase order processes, and ledger reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.

What our Client would like to see (Essential):

• A hotel accounting background is essential for this role
• Part Qualified/Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or studying for
• Advanced Excel knowledge is a must
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Jet / Guestline is required
• Highly numerate and organized individual with a keen eye for attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-site & and multi-culture environment while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must hold a full driving license to allow for periodic travel between the hotels for which business mileage allowance will be paid.

What we would like to see (Non-Essential):

• Experience in Hospitality / Restuarant / SME or fast-growth company
• Strong technical experience
