Due to significant business growth, organically and through acquisitions, we are looking for an accounts assistant to join our Finance Team and support the business with the monthly management accounts and wider accounting processes.

The successful applicant will have/be:

- Ensuring effective management of accounting information held in the general ledger and supporting ledgers
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Process standard journals for accruals and prepayments
- Manage the fixed asset register and account for fixed assets including depreciation postings
- Process payroll entries and liaise with the Financial Accounting and Compliance team
- Liaise with the FP&A team, ensuring cost lines accurately reflect business operations
- Allocate company credit card costs with VAT analysis. Review and develop current process.
- Assist with Finance inbox queries
- Contribute to the Finance systems transformation project
- Other ad hoc projects
- To provide cover across the wider Finance team during peak periods and holiday cover as and when required.
The role will be well suited to someone who is committed to becoming a qualified accountant. It would suit someone who is already working in industry or as a first step industry from practice. Study support will be available and there will be opportunity to develop and progress within the business as it grows.
Experience and Skills Required:Essential
- Ideally suited to someone currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA qualifications
- A good grounding in management accounts with relevant work experience
- High level people skills and experience of influencing business teams outside of finance and working in cross functional teams
- Enjoys bringing new ideas, adding value and wants to help shape the development of processes
- Pro-active and change orientated
- Knowledge of Sage 200 and other relevant ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite
