Assistant Management Accountant

Your new company
Your new company are a leader in their field based in Staffordshire and are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team on a Fixed Term basis up to 18 months, with a potential to go permanent.
Your new role
The focus of this role will be on cash book entry and reconciliation, intercompany/related party reconciliation/forecasting and supplier account reconciliation. However, there will be elements of all the tasks mentioned in the job spec below.
Your Responsibilities as an Assistant Management Accountant:

• Month End Reporting - key support to the Financial Controller in all month end reporting activities, leading to the production of the month end Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet
• Prepare and explain any key variances in the monthly accounts, forecasts and budgets, comparing them to the latest forecast, budget and prior years when preparing the reports for key stakeholders.
• Forecasting - working closely with non-financial teams to build the monthly overhead forecasts
• Reconciliation of balance sheet/intercompany accounts, investigation into variances and resolution as required
• Business Partnering - supporting group administration functions with any other ad-hoc requirements
• Maintaining the Group's fixed asset register including monitoring and forecasting of new capital expenditure requests
• Accrual and Prepayment calculations and posting of journals
• Improving the systems surrounding all aspects of the Month End Process and Forecasts

What you'll need to succeed

• AAT Qualified or CIMA/ACCA studier or looking to study CIMA/ACCA
• Experience in management accounts
• Advanced user of Excel
• Previous experience of using SAP is preferred but not essential.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, competent, conscientious
