About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join our multi-disciplined in-house team, supporting the delivery of our vision for being regarded as the area's premier provider of turnkey services to our chosen markets.
You will be AAT qualified or finalist. Candidates who have started CIMA or ACCA courses will be of particular interest for this role. You will be reporting directly into, and provide support to, the Financial Controller. This role will provide a good exposure to all aspects of the finance function. The successful candidate will like being busy and have a high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties within this role are very varied and include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance of the cash flow daily, and forecasting of future cash positions
- Bank Reconciliations of the current accounts and credit cards
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Preparation of HMRC VAT and CIS returns
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage all aspects of the purchase ledger including raising new jobs and invoicing.
- Preparation, processing and allocation of payments
- Supplier reconciliations
- Credit control via phone and email
- Raising sales invoices, credit notes and query resolution
- Maintain, implement and improve internal controls and procedures
- Assisting with system updates and implementation
This role will suit someone who is looking to progress and assist with their Management Accounting duties, whilst also being happy to undertake day to day transactional work. - High level of numeracy, accuracy and IT proficiency with the ability to use various packages, in particular: MS Office (Word, Excel), Sage Line 50, Xero
- Knowledge of Domestic Reverse Charge VAT (DRC) and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) an advantage
