Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Finance team on a permanent, full-time basis.
We are committed to improving diversity and inclusion across our organisation. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and the Global Majority are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single specification. If you’re excited about the role but your experience or qualifications don’t perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups such as the global majority, LGBTQA+, those with a disability and neurodiverse conditions.
The role:
The Assistant Management accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial function and reporting of the Globe. They will contribute to the preparation of the monthly management accounts, reconciliations, year-end, and support to the wider organisation on finance matters.
The skills:
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of technical accounting (double-entry, P&L, balance sheets) and will be familiar with posting journals and interpreting financial data. Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Excel is also necessary.
Ideally they will be working toward an accounting qualification (e.g., AAT/ACCA/CIMA), for which the Globe will be able to provide study support.
The team:
The Finance team provides essential support to the wider organisation, which operates in a creative and dynamic environment. The role will have the opportunity to work across multiple areas of the Finance function, including management reporting, financial reporting, tax and compliance, payroll, asset management, budgeting and forecasting. As such, the team gets to engage with the entire organisation, to help guide decision making.
