Reed is acting on behalf of a prestigious fashion client in London who are looking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team. This role is perfect for a finance professional with a strong background in accounting, who is ready to take on full responsibility for month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations, and who has a passion for financial reporting and analysis.
Day-to-day of the role:- Take full responsibility for month-end close, including journals, overseeing accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset depreciation.
- Prepare month-end Purchase Reports, including Duty calculation, Commission, and Freight charges.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliation thoroughly and accurately.
- Complete quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance and staying updated with VAT changes.
- Prepare Weekly Management Reports such as Aged Trial Balance and Sales report.
- Oversee weekly customer payment allocation and supervise sales invoices and debt collection.
- Provide support and cover for the Assistant Accountant and manage and mentor a Junior Accountant.
- Support the Management Accountant with ad hoc analysis, reporting, and projects.
- Work closely with the Management Accountant and concession teams for accurate financial reporting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of finance operations to facilitate the resolution of issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and demonstrate innovation to achieve the best results.
- Advanced MS Excel skills with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
