About the Assistant Quality / Technical Manager job
The purpose of your role will be to bring versatility with a ‘can do’ attitude to join the quality department where you will report into the Quality Manager and play a key role in ensuring legislative and regulatory standards are always met and adhered to.
Key tasks
- Conduct detailed investigations into causes of non-conformity, including complaint trends, quality, and factory compliance and be involved in lab testing as well as ensuring that all glass and plastic, pest controls are risk assessed to determine its inspection frequency and accurate records are made.
- Ensure GMP audits are completed and are of sufficient detail to ensure all aspects of the HACCP programme is covered. Be involved in scheduling and training amongst the quality and technical departments.
- Carry out internal audit schedule including GMP and Hygiene, ensure that raised non-conformances are tracked and closed within a timely manner as well as external auditing by attending technical visits and first production runs and communicate openly with audit bodies and site team.
- Manage the sites traceability requirements, ensuring that trace abilities are completed in accordance with the schedule and that any actions are raised and closed out swiftly. Complete and submit all customer due diligence documentation in a timely manner.
About You
The successful candidate shall have the experience and knowledge along with a track record of managing teams and ability to address issues effectively and in compliance with legislative and company policies & procedures. You shall be able to demonstrate compliance with all aspects of product safety and legality.
- Level 3 HACCP & good BRC knowledge is essential.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels verbally and written.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Have knowledge of customer compliance systems and requirements, currently (but not exclusively) Booker compliance, Brandbank, Erudus and Qadex.
- Provide ability to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

The Assistant Quality / Technical Manager job is based in West Midlands and is paying c. £32,000 according to your experience. On some occasions you will be required to be flexible to meet the needs of the business. You may be expected to attend the building out of normal office hours to meet the requirements of Quality Systems.
