Cala Homes Thames Ltd are looking to recruit a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will act as the Assistant Surveyor for designated sites within the Region and you will support the Senior Surveying Manager as required regarding financial status and profitability on designated developments.

- To produce accurate and realistic estimates, budgets and forecast and cost control measures in line with the competency profile for the role of surveyor
- To monitor site performance against original plans, budgets and financial targets
- To provide cost reports and key date updates to deadline
- Communicate regularly with other disciplines; sales, land, construction and architects, as necessary
- Communicate with Construction Director and Customer Service Manager with respect to monitoring all prelim and sales budgets, payments and costs
- To raise subcontract orders and make payments as necessary
- Negotiate with contractors and investigate reasons for cost variances
About You
You must have experience working in a similar role with another house builder, with a minimum of an HNC in Building Studies. RICS qualifications and / or a degree in Quantity Surveying would be beneficial. You must have a high proficiency with various computer packages including Microsoft Office products as well as experience using ‘Site stream’ or other similar land appraisal software. You should be familiar with current standards and Building regulations and have excellent planning and organisational skills.
