An award-winning Manchester based construction firm are looking to hire an articulate and detail-oriented professional to join their team in the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Assistant QS).

The role will cover a wide range of disciplines, and supported by a well-structured & experienced team you will be responsible for;
- Working alongside the Senior QS & Commercial Director on site, assisting in the procurement & management of subcontractors
- Providing commercial support to the operational Team
- Ensuring any subcontractor issues are quickly identified & resolved
- Assisting & reviewing in the preparation of tenders
- Undertaking basic subcontract procurement
- Ensuring site records & logs are accurately maintained
- Project Monitoring: Regular site visits to track and record all changes, updates, any issues and advancements thoroughly
- Providing accurate cost estimates and preparing budgets
- Assisting in the preparation of contractor's valuations, including the measurement and valuation of works in accordance with the contract.
- Attending client meetings
- Supporting in the preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts, ensuring they are structured in line with the company and client
- Involvement from the pre-construction stages through to final accounts
Skills and Qualifications required;
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Familiarity with construction contracts and experience in cost management and the preparation of valuations
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Proficiency in relevant industry software for cost reporting and measurement
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster strong working relationships internally and externally
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality work under pressure
- A keen attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with complex data sets and documentation
