ABOUT THE POST We are looking for an experienced journalist to teach a module on Feature and Arts Journalism for our MA Creative, Digital and Professional Writing programme within the School of Art, Architecture and Design. The module will run as weekly in-person classes between February and May 2024 at our Holloway Road campus. The candidate will need substantial recent professional experience of feature writing, and ideally also of commissioning and editing. You will have detailed, current understanding of markets for feature journalism, including the different styles appropriate for digital platforms, newspapers and magazines. You will also bring active interest in contemporary cultural and arts journalism so as to enable students to begin writing in this field. You will need prior teaching experience and the ability to explain to students essential components of feature writing in an inspiring and encouraging way. Weekly classes will combine discursive presentation of key information with discussion of examples, practical exercises to develop students’ knowledge and skills, and workshopping of students’ own feature ideas.
