About the role
You will support the production of financial forecasts that support Regulatory and Balance Sheet Management activities for the Society. This includes analysing data to provide insights that inform strategic thinking, as well as utilising/analysing the Society's existing models to support decision making.
You will:
- Support the development of Balance Sheet scenario strategies through analysis of data and preparation of alternative financial forecasts, to understand key drivers of NII and to inform business decision making.
- Work with stakeholders to determine economic and business assumptions for alternative scenarios and prepare templates for review and QRM processing. Adhere to formal approval processes where required.
- Prepare financial modelling using QRM for IFRS9 scenarios, regulatory scenarios, insight scenarios and other ad hoc sensitivities as required.
- Export, review, and summarise forecast outputs ensuring accuracy of inputs and also comparing scenarios to relevant central or base scenarios.
- Maintain complete documentation for all relevant models and processes to meet internal model standards as required.
- Support the wider Balance Sheet Scenarios team to obtain/analyse the Society's data as required using Power Query and/or Power BI e.g. actual vs forecast and increasing granularity of model outputs.
- Reconcile data outputs from different sources as required, providing reasons for variances.
What will you bring to the role?
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in Financial Services and/or Financial Planning & Analysis
- Highly numerate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills as well as experience with Power Query and Power BI
- Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail
- Self-motivator with good planning and organisational skills
- Desire to improve processes and problem solving experience
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Python and other programming languages e.g. VBA
- Ability to manage and analyse large sets of financial data
- Experience of using risk management/financial planning systems e.g. QRM
- Financial modelling experience
