Job description

This is a hugely exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the transformation and growth of the Women's Professional Game in England, and work across all things relating to broadcast operations across three competitions: the Barclays Women's Super League (BWSL), Barclays Women's Championship (BWC) and League Cup.

The successful candidate will work with the Senior Broadcast Manager on all the delivery of broadcast matters, media rights and associated commercial matters where required to assist the Broadcast Lead. Manage all broadcast operations-related matters across broadcast partners, clubs and service providers of the Barclays Women's Super League (BWSL), Barclays Women's Championship (BWC) and League Cup.

What will you be doing?

  • Compile linear and digital audience figures and distribute them to the wider business as appropriate. Ensure audience trends are analysed, monitored and communicated effectively regularly.
  • Create & manage fixture calendars, key documents and shared folders with match managers and broadcast partners.
  • Manage, book, process payments and train the match managers for all WSL, League Cup Fixtures and Championship in the future, where required; ensuring standards and deadlines are met with planning paperwork for fixtures. Ensuring broadcasters and clubs are aware of match manager assignments.
  • Oversee all match manager reports, per round, including sharing them & key information with the senior Broadcast Operations Manager, and internal departments and finding solutions to reoccurring challenges.
  • Be available to be on-call to support each match round as part of the escalation process, where required.
  • Manage all live streaming requests with BWSL/BWC clubs.
  • Manage broadcast ticket requests for fixtures.
  • To work with our international rights agency to understand international markets, viewership data and weekly takers for each match to deliver regular updates including, weekly 'Where to Watch' information across internal and external stakeholders. With time, to build partnership relations with key international broadcast partners, and their on-site requests.
  • Manage footage/ archive requests from internal and external stakeholders; working with external partners to assist in footage delivery & charges.
  • To manage all live fixture operations for BWSL, BWC & League Cup on the league's own and operated channels, OTT platform (FA Player / YouTube/ NewCo OTT) and understanding the international rights agreements for geo-blocking purposes.
  • Being familiar with the media rights contracts with broadcast partners, and able to answer internal and external rights-related questions.
  • To work with production partners to ensure content delivery of all BWSL/BWC & League Cup fixtures, lead on weekly calls with production partners.
  • Organise and deliver all pre-season broadcast content days with each club.
  • To be one of the key contacts for all broadcast matters surrounding League and Cup fixtures for BWSL, BWC and League Cup, working with our broadcast partners on the optimum delivery of their contracts.
  • Work closely with the events team to deliver the broadcast operation of the League Cup Final including but not limited to; accreditation, attending fixtures as a match manager and overseeing rigging for the broadcast partner.
  • Help arrange, with the Senior Broadcast Operations Manager, site visits with individual clubs as and when they are required, to oversee camera positions, compound layout, gantry layouts and all broadcast requirements for each of the broadcast partners.
  • To support the Senior Broadcast Operations Manager with key industry and consumer trends that will influence the sector in the future, across technology, platform, production and distribution.
  • Executes additional tasks as required to meet FA Group's changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.

What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:

  • Experience of live television operations ideally in the live sports industry.
  • Thorough understanding of the broadcast industry covering: media rights, scheduling, broadcast production and operational delivery.
  • Flexible approach to working hours - some weekend work will be required.
  • Understanding of all technical aspects of an outside broadcast operation.
  • Strong communication skills.
