Our client based in Northampton are looking for a Business Analyst to support with day-to-day operational functions, helping to manage stock levels, maintain systems and provide technical support to a range of functions within the business. This is a brand-new role and the successful candidate will initially be employed on a fixed 12-month contract, with opportunities to join on a permanent basis depending on the individual, and how the role evolves over time.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Business Analyst:

• Develop and maintain an effective cycle count program for the warehouse facility.
• Support with internal audits, providing documentation and responding to queries.
• Investigate, identify and resolve any accuracy or quality issues, communicating these issues clearly and regularly.
• Determine optimal locations for inbound inventory and provide workable solutions of optimised storage and movement of stock.
• Maintain ongoing system administration within WMS, providing technical support for colleagues where needed.
• Create and maintain reports and workbooks using various in-house systems (reporting tools and data sources).
• Drive continuous improvement and where possible introduce new technology/processes/software
• Attend exhibitions and explore alternative solutions, presenting to senior leadership team.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders including warehouse management, commercial operations, customer service and IT functions.

Key experience and skills required for the Business Analyst:

• Good working knowledge of Tableau (essential), Power BI or similar.
• Strong systems proficiency generally - good level of Excel, SQL, and JDE/WMS or similar reporting/data source programs.
• A team player with excellent written and verbal communication - confident to propose new methods and solutions when liaising with senior managers across the business.
• Highly analytical with excellent problem solving skills.
• A degree in a relevant discipline would be useful but our client values practical experience in a similar role and environment, so this is not essential.
