The Business
Our client designs, develops, and implements innovative IoT/ Data products that empower their customers to drive efficiencies within their operations. Our client is at the forefront of IoT/ Data advancements, driving connectivity and efficiency across various sectors, including EMS, airside and marine operations.
They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead their expansion efforts within the Internet of Things domain. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IoT technologies, innovative use cases focused on data, market trends, and possess exceptional business acumen to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic business plan to drive revenue growth and market penetration within the IoT sector.
Identify and establish relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers.
Collaborate with the product development team to align offerings with market demands and emerging trends in IoT technology.
Working closely with Hardware and Software Development Teams to understand the offering and provide insights into future development activities.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and develop actionable strategies.
Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and pitching to negotiating contracts and closing deals.
Create, manage and report on a detailed Sales Pipeline, against target, customer and product metrics
Create compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to specific client needs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and operations teams to ensure successful product launches and implementations.
Stay updated on industry developments, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes impacting the IoT sector.
Monitor, manage and apply for public and private tender opportunities.
Work closely with our client’s Customer Success, Commercial and Fulfilment Departments to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
Qualifications/Skills
Knowledge of the EMS Sector desirable, but not essential
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Science or related field.
Excellent knowledge in the use of data/ statistics to drive business improvement.
Proven track record of at least 7 years in Business Development or sales roles within the IoT/ Data/Telematics industry.
In-depth knowledge of IoT technologies, standards, protocols, and market trends.
Strong networking abilities with the capability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective business plans.
Self-motivated and results-driven with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Salary & Benefits
Salary - Up to £65k per annum depending on experience
Remote/Hybrid Working would be considered for the right candidate
