Business Intelligence Insight Lead is sought by buoyant Reinsurance group with offices based in the heart of the city. As a BI Insight Lead, you will be responsible for providing a range of analysis and insights to the (re)insurance industry. Key is the ability to see commercial value from data. You will play a pivotal part in producing client work, presentations for key stakeholders and you will participate in key decision making to support a rapidly growing team. As a senior member of the team, you will also provide management and guidance to Junior Analysts.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and benchmarking activities to provide stakeholders with valuable insights into industry trends and performance metrics.
- Capture requirements from senior stakeholders across internal teams to understand the information needs and strategic goals.
- Utilise SQL to query and manipulate complex datasets, ensuring accurate and efficient extraction of relevant information.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, highlighting key insights and uncovering new opportunities for business improvement.
- Maintain and update tools and databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for analysis.
- Develop data strategies that align with organisational objectives, enabling effective decision-making and optimising business processes.
- Analyse, interpret, and visualise data to deliver actionable insights and solutions to the commercial aspects of the insurance industry.
- Explore competitive market strategies through the analysis of related products, market trends, and competitor shares.
- Present findings and insights to stakeholders at all levels of management, effectively communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Key Requirements:
- Experience with Data Visualisation - PowerBI is preferable
- Experience in building presentations and analysing data in Microsoft Office
- Basic SQL Skills
- Financial reporting experience is beneficial
- Stakeholder management skills - good communication skills
- Preferable if previously worked in an (re)insurance company
- Finely-tuned data skills and an awareness of data quality, data integrity checking and reconciliation
- Hybrid understanding of the technical industry and the insurance commercial industry to bring insight to day-to-day operations
- Superb attention to detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised self-starter, with drive and dedication; able to finish work with little supervision
