We are looking for an astute, commercially savvy PR expert that is driven to find unique ways to engage our clients with the story of our bank's growth journey. This person will be responsible for PR for the corporate and investment bank and be able to partner with other channel leads to enhance, protect and manage the bank's reputation and support the commercial goals of the business. This role is crucial in how Investec Bank plc communicates its strategic messages to clients to promote our brand and enhance the understanding of our corporate and investment banking capabilities. Combining industry expertise with a passion for understanding our clients supported by the skills to effectively manage our reputation, you will play a meaningful role in crafting our unique growth story. 

PR strategy
•    Partner with business stakeholders and the wider marketing team to understand business objectives to create annual and quarterly PR strategies
•    Proactively identify opportunities to generate optimal national or industry coverage and secure the right contributions from spokespeople to craft the right story for the client groups and support our belonging, inclusion and diversity values
•    Generate thought leadership campaigns for targeted media and design an effective communication process by partnering with key stakeholders, business marketing managers and the content team 
•    Align PR plans with the overarching brand strategy to ensure the reputation of our brand, people and businesses is consistently enhanced and protected 
•    Ensure PR is a fully integrated, optimised element of campaigns through partnership with the wider campaign team and across client groups – including strategy, story development, execution and reporting

PR management
•    Build on existing relationships with key national and industry publications, broadcast and other channels to promote the brand, working with PR agencies to constantly build stronger media relationships
•    Manage PR agencies, reporting on budgets, successful activity and holding regular dialogue with agencies to ensure high performance and resolve issues as required
•    Ensure we have robust procedures in place for approvals, issue resolution, crisis management and escalation 
•    Manage the award processes for all corporate client groups to improve our industry reputation in the right environments

PR administration
•    Monitor and measure coverage, regularly sharing reporting and analysis with stakeholders and the wider marketing team 
•    Arrange media training to internal spokespeople, identifying talented spokespeople throughout the business as required
•    Keep abreast of all compliance requirements and ensuring those requirements are always met 
•    Be responsible for the highly effective use of the PR marketing budget 
•    Partner with Marketing Operations for procurement, contracting and onboarding as required

What we're looking for
•    Evidence a significant record of PR achievement and management in a similar role, with a proven track record operating very effectively both in-house and with agencies
•    Excellent knowledge of financial services, with experience working across B2B audiences and paid and earned media
•    Able to build strong relationships with the business and wider marketing team
•    A keen interest in political and economic developments and how they affect markets and our clients
•    Confident reputational risk management
•    Excellent PR network with strong agency and journalist relationships
•    Experience of working in a multi-channel marketing environment, with a strong understanding of how PR integrates with other channels most effectively  
•    Be flexible and agile enough to work in a matrix environment, constantly having to find the best way to balance priorities alongside the tenacity and diplomacy to resolve challenges with a cool head
•    Deep understanding of how priorities in belonging, inclusion and diversity and ESG best intersect with corporate PR strategies
•    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; strong editorial skills writing press releases and media stories for a wide range of target media
•    Commitment to act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory)
